Has the church and/or its grounds ever been flooded by the Rockfish River? We are considering purchasing the 17-acre property across the street and on the same side of the river, and as most of that property is declared as a flood plain, we are curious to discover just how far out of its banks that the river floods in normal flood periods. Thanks in advance for any information you can give us!

Sorry about such a tardy reply. I don’t know about the church having flooded. I know the flood maps were recently updated and the Spruce Creek Park has just a bit above the flood plane. During Camille there was water everywhere and I suspect water in the church. I was told the bridge had to be reconstructed as it washed away.
